After a long period of silence, one of South Africa's most respected emcees is back with a new album called DragonLion_FullCircle. The album artwork is here and the 1st single too.
First of all the album's artwork surprised me, if you are a big fan of Zubz music you should know that the previous album covers were very straight forward. I applaude the artwork this time, very creative and different, as they say, change is always good.
Zubz asked Mozambican painter Ricardo Pinto Jorge to do the job and the outcome is outstanding. This is what Zubz has to say about the album cover “Of course there is a literal depiction of the album title in the artwork” says Zubz, “but there are also less obvious depictions. The colours represent the countries where I was born, raised and am based; Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. The Yin –Yang looking form that the dragon and the lion take, speaks to balance.”
