THE ONE LOVE SKATE EXPO
The One Love Skate Expo is an event that
aims to bring Joburg’s skating lifestyle and arts to new heights-literally.
Based right at the top of a sky scraper in the heart of Joburg at a building
called Intermission, young skaters and artists have a platform to enjoy the
culture of Joburg from an eagles eye view whilst show casing their honed
skills, and some, their birth given talents. Founded by young spirits with a
matured love for the arts, they aim to bring together different art forms under
one roof, blasting with Dancehall and Dub-Step and other various music genres, to
help grow the culture of creativity and preserve the life that the arts
breathes into the lives of not only skaters and artists, but those who
appreciate the movement as well.
Intermission offers two floors to host activities such as: an indoor
skate park, artwork exhibition space for paintings, photography and other forms
of still arts and sculptures, ground for fashion designers to display their
designs, a rooftop experience to hang out and get a 360 view of the city of
Johannesburg. This playground for skaters and artists is based at the top of
the Lister Medical Building (Intermission) in the CBD of
Joburg, Cnr 55 Jeppe Street and Smal Street.
