Late last year Kapital K dropped his second mixtape The
Other Side Of Me & it recently got my attention. Yes I know this review may
be a little late but I was seriously impressed with this project & I felt
it deserved to be posted here.
The Other Side Of Me (T.O.S.O.M.) is Kapital K’s second free release,
the follow up to last year’s Mixtape Master. Upon first listen I was extremely
impressed with the project. Kapital manages to paint a
vivid picture of his personal demons, aspirations & character
over the project’s canvas. Throughout the project he shares stories
of witnessing his mother being a victim of domestic abuse, feeling alone &
misunderstood, running away from home, the love he shares for his girl &
dealing with a life of wealth. Though during some instances when the latter
topic is broached it sometimes comes off as more of humble brag. That may not
be the best way to endear yourself to young fans.
